Founder
Joey, the founder of PLACE Developments and PLACE Architects, is an architect and a seasoned real estate strategist with nearly three decades of international experience. Her diverse portfolio includes commercial mixed-use, hotel, retail, and office projects that meet evolving market needs and ensure financial sustainability. Joey’s passion lies in transforming urban spaces into sustainable environments that drive commercial success.
Her expertise extends beyond architecture to real estate strategy, development, design, project management, and sales and marketing strategies that resonate with end users. A notable project is the KK100 mixed-use development in Shenzhen, a pioneer in Shenzhen’s urban regeneration that significantly transformed its cityscape.
As the founder of PLACE Developments, Joey’s work has been recognized for excellence in real estate strategy and development, winning the Best Mixed Use Development award at the 2019 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards. She possesses a deep understanding of the unique dynamics, cultural nuances, and regulatory frameworks associated with working in the US, UK, China, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia.
Recently, Joey has been engaged in several urban regeneration and asset enhancement projects prioritizing sustainability, well-being, and financial success. Her approach combines creativity, expertise, and an entrepreneurial spirit in enhancing the value, functionality, and marketability of urban properties for long-term success. This includes leveraging her experience and regional expertise to contribute to real estate projects in Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and beyond.
Joey holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from the University of Washington. She is a registered architect in New York, USA.
